We here at SSD Tactical Training had another successful basic firearms/ pistol class on Saturday 07/18/2015. Thank you to all the people who took the class. Thank you for asking a lot of questions in the class, we encourage questions. We want people to be fully informed about firearm safety and the laws.
Topics covered in class was Massachusetts General Laws pertaining to firearms, safe storage of firearms, safe handling of firearms, child proofing firearms, purchase, possessing, carrying firearms in a vehicle, point of aim/ point of impact, choosing the right handgun for you, Identifying and unloading different firearms, cleaning firearms, different types of ammunition and laws pertaining to transportation of firearms.
On the Range we conducted basic marksmanship, firing the handgun with two hands, loading and unloading a pistol safely, firearm malfunction clearing drills (These will be done in classroom) and firearms proficiency drills.
At the conclusion of the course everyone has gained THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CONFIDENCE NECESSARY FOR OWNING AND USING A PISTOL SAFELY and meet the requirements to apply for your License to Carry a Firearm in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and many other states. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive an NRA Basic Pistol Safety Course certificate and Massachusetts State Police Basic Firearms safety certificate. Which meet the requirements to apply for a MA, CT, RI and most other states License to Carry a pistol.
