***Just in, License to Carry update from the state of Massachusetts Firearms Compliance Division***
For new License To Carry Applicants: Any student who completed a safety training course prior to April 2nd may submit their certificate with their application at any time. These certificates will not be denied. However, upon renewal in 6 years of your License to Carry issue date, applicants will be required to complete supplemental online training developed and provided by the Department in order to satisfy the new BFS course training requirements (i.e. disengagement and conflict avoidance tactics, suicide prevention, and use of force laws).
We are already teaching this new supplemental training in our current classes. (i.e. disengagement and conflict avoidance tactics, suicide prevention, and use of force laws).
Anyone who received their License to Carry prior to August 01, 2024 is grandfathered in and does not have to do this supplemental training to renew.
